Reclaimed Red Mahogany and Teak

(Foreground Red Mahogany) The trees from which these beams were sawn, were blown down over a period of decades from severe storms in the remote islands of Indonesia. (Background Log Teak) The Teak trees were fallen in 1904 for the construction of sailing schooners and clipper ships. When the first shipment of wood arrived in England, the ship building industry had already turned to steel construction. Theses trees have lain undisturbed in the jungle until recently.
